Developing English as a skill for life

What we do

Since the academic year 2020-2021 TLC teaches and manages the English language learning of their students in the comforts of their homes, living in France.

  • Every pupil signs up to TLC with a Cursus outlining the objective CEFR English language level expected at a specific point in time.
  • All our courses start mid-September and run until July latest (before the school summer holidays). Every course consists of 29 lessons.
  • Each lesson takes place once a week (taught outside of the school and public holidays).
  • The pupils must have the necessary equipment required to be able to apply for this form of learning.
  • Lessons are 1h30 long and homework is expected to be of equal length (subdivided into 15 minutes 6 days a week)
What does the TLC BAC C2 curriculum look like ?

WHAT IS THE TLC ENGLISH LANGUAGE NATURAL LEARNING CURVE ?

The natural learning curve is when teaching and learning is fun and pleasant for both the pupil and the teacher. (cf. table ‘What does the TLC BAC C2 curriculum look like’)

Students that follow this program converge naturally towards this curve (obtaining the CEFR level A2 in CM2, B1 in 5ième, B2 in 3ième, C1 in Première and C2 in Terminale). A pupil one year out of this learning curve will still find learning English pleasant.

Some pupils two years out of this learning curve may start to find learning unpleasant. Most pupils with more than two years out of this learning curve find learning English unpleasant.

Pupils working outside of the Natural Learning Curve are encouraged to attend a boarding school or Summer Program in order to converge with it as quickly as possible.
